Department: Fabrication

Prerequisites: Ability to lift 25-50 pounds. Read, write, and communicate in English. Understand units of measurement and perform general/basic mathematical calculations. High proficiency in reading a tape measure.

Nature: This is a general laborer position performed in a manufacturing environment. The employee is expected to perform and comply with request by management. This includes working in other various departments (Cutting, Tempering, Lamination, Shipping/Packing etc.)

Function & Duties: This position requires that material including glass be moved from one position/location to another to expedite the glass/object throughout the plant. Basic muscular upper/lower body manipulation is used throughout the glass fabrication process. Gripping, cupping, clamping hand and wrist motions are required to support, carry, and maneuver objects over to working platform heights. On/off loading of glass from tables, rolling racks, delivery trucks, or wood crates throughout the workday. Position requires standing and walking on a concrete floor while wearing steel toe shoes, hard hat, and safety glasses for eight hours (or more) daily.

Prequalification and requirements:

-Regular and predictable attendance.

-Pride in workmanship.

-Perform tasks in adherence to all safety policies and procedures.

-Read, understand, and communicate verbal and written instructions, paperwork, drawings, and labels.

-Ability to perform basic mathematical measurements and effectively use a tape measure. (1/64 accuracy is required)

-Add, subtract, multiply and divide fractions and decimal dimensions (fractional calculator provided).

-High attention to detail with an emphasis on overall build accuracy and quality.

-Use of mechanical hand benders, miter saws, and bench grinders.

-Read and understand basic prints/sketches.

-Perform fine manipulation and massaging of joinery materials.

-Familiar with stacking of tolerances concepts when tuning measurements to accommodate various shape and pattern designs.

-Must be comfortable working independently.

-Learn basic heat forming techniques to match various radii and profiles.

-Previous construction/manufacturing experience preferred.

-Must be 18 years of age and authorized to work in the United States.

-Must pass practical skills test and oral interview.

-High School Diploma or GED strongly preferred.

-Pre-employment medical screen will be conducted on qualified applicants.

Environment: The manufacturing shop is subject to the same general climate conditions of the region (heat, cold, humidity, etc.). Chemicals, dust, pollen, and other typical airborne particulate matter are present within the atmosphere of the shop and may create odors in the plant. Noise levels in the work environment can be moderate to high.

Equipment: Dollie, Crane, Pallet Jack, Glass Cups, Tape Measure, Calculator, Saw, Heat Gun, various hand tools.

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
