We are in search of a Wildlife Technician to join our growing team in the Grand Rapids, MI area. In this role, you’ll solve customers’ wildlife problems by humanely trapping animals and repairing damage to the home. No two days are the same in this position, which we think makes it a rewarding and exciting position. 

Don’t have previous Wildlife Technician experience? We’ll teach you everything you need to know! What it takes for success is an interest in building a career, the ability to climb ladders, reliability, and basic construction/repair skills.

Duties and details:

As part of our top-rated wildlife team, our technicians earn The National Wildlife Control Operator’s Association (NWCOA) certifications and are trained by our senior staff members. New technicians are partnered with experienced employees for day-to-day duties that include traveling to homeowner locations, identifying and setting traps for nuisance wildlife, and repairing damage such as replacing siding or patching holes in walls, eaves, and roofs.

Qualified candidates have prior construction, roofing, handyman, or related experience. Prior experience operating hand tools is required. We have great clients and our techs need excellent communication skills. The position requires a team member that is comfortable on ladders, and roofs and can navigate tight attics and crawl spaces. Interest in overtime opportunity, desired.

Compensation:

$42,500 - $60,000

Responsibilities:
  • Assist Wildlife Lead on Home Exclusion Projects.
  • Perform site clean-up and reload leftover materials after the job assignment is complete.
  • Adhere to Company Safety Standards and promote safety culture among crew members, including the proper use of machinery and equipment, and resolve problems when they arise.
  • Meet daily production goals set by the company each month including team and individual goals.
  • Participate in proficiency training and all professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
  • Have a clean driving record and valid driver’s license
  • High school diploma or GED is required
  • Display a strong work ethic, professionalism and teamwork, and a history of regular attendance at work and adherence to project schedules
  • Basic skills construction knowledge (how to use construction equipment and tools) is needed
  • Maintain good physical stamina to climb ladders and stairs, work outdoors for long periods of time
