Job description

The Disability Insurance Branch (DIB) is looking for a forward-thinking, passionate, detailoriented Analyst to join our Workload Optimization Division ("Command Center") as the
Research and Reporting Unit Data Analyst. The DIB administers the State Disability
Insurance program, which includes Disability Insurance, Paid Family Leave, Non-Industrial Disability Insurance for state employees, and voluntary plans. The program covers 18 million workers, and provides financial stability to workers and their families in times of need. We strive to deliver timely benefit payments and quality service to all of our customers.
Research and Reporting Unit Analyst plays a vital role in supporting DIB management by performing analytical and sensitive tasks to collect, analyze and produce data and reports for the Disability Insurance Branch management and the Directorate, using different statistical and analytical systems.
Will consider candidates from all parts of California.
May consider candidates working remotely, and frequent travel to a DI field office or the Sacramento office may be required. California Government Code Section 14200 requires employees to reside in California to telecommute. Travel expenses to and from the assigned headquarters are the responsibility of the employee.

Statement of Qualifications Requirements
A Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) is Required. The SOQ serves as documentation of each candidate's ability to present information clearly and concisely in writing.   • Based on your work history and experience, what experience do you have leading projects, and partnering with stakeholders at various levels
  • Describe your experience analyzing data, producing reports and querying data using Excel, SAS EG, Tableau and other software.

  • Background Investigation Requirement
    The position(s) may require an applicant to pass a background investigation. However, applicants will not be asked to provide information about a conviction history unless they receive a conditional offer of employment.
    The department will make an individualized assessment of whether the conviction history has a direct or adverse relationship with the specific duties of the job and the work performed by the department.
