Wet Solids Processing Postdoctoral Researcher-(20810)
DESCRIPTION


Idaho National Laboratory is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to perform laboratory based development of solvent-based drying, mechanical drying, size reduction, and densification of biomass and food or agricultural industry derived wastes. The postdoc will develop and optimize processes to food, feed, or fuel-based bio-products from industrial wastes.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate knowledge of chemical and mechanical separation and processing principles and utilize concepts in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or food processing to optimize process conditions. Our team works a 9x80 schedule located out of our Idaho Falls facility with every other Friday off.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

    Working in a multi-disciplinary team setting.

    Working independently while operating within a larger team to achieve specific project targets.

    Maintaining knowledge of relevant scientific literature and participate in preparing reports, peer-reviewed publications and proposals.

    Representing the laboratory though program reviews and technical presentations at conferences.

    Meeting ES&H goals, and demonstrates a strong commitment to safe laboratory practices, and performs all work in an environmentally safe and compliant manner.


QUALIFICATIONS
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    PhD in chemical engineering, chemistry, mechanical engineering, food sciences/engineering or related disciplines must be completed by commencement of appointment and within the previous 5 years.

    Demonstrated oral and published written communication skills (in English).

JOB INFORMATION:
    Salary Grade: $95,004.00 Annually
