Classification: Non-Exempt Hourly

Job Summary:

Supervises the packing crew to ensure that all the packed fruit (cherries, apples, pears) meets the specifications and packinghouse quality requirements. This is accomplished by knowledge of set of standards and direct supervision of the packing crew.

Essential Functions:

Preparation to shift

Instruct subordinates on fruit quality, grade and sizes, and assures fruit is handled properly and carefully.

Maximizes production while maintaining quality standards

Schedules crew as needed for packing

Assist in maintaining morale by addressing complaints and problems of subordinates.

Check grade and cull analysis to make sure fruit meets set standards

Prepare/verification of payroll timesheets information and time clock check-ins/outs

Must be able to stand and lift individual pieces of fruit to a higher level for 8-9 hours per shift

Must have ability to perform “repetitive motion” type physical work

Serve as a leadership team member and must have the ability to work as a team, cooperate with fellow workers and follow directions given by Plant Manager

Must be on the job, ready to work by specified work schedule given by Wenatchee Plant Manager

Must be able to maintain a good attendance record required

Must abide and enforce company SQF, safety and all handbook personnel policies.

Must be able to work in an environment that has some dust, fumes and chemicals in the air and occasionally work in area where the environment somewhat cool and wet

Must be able to wear latex or rubber gloves to protect skin from dampness and chemicals and not wear loose clothing.

DOE - Depending on Experience within stated range

Physical Requirements:

The incumbent is required to stand and walk around work sites, and it is felt that the job responsibilities could not be met by people with severe restriction to their mobility. Moreover, given the accent on the communication process, it is felt that it would be extremely difficult to meet the job requirements with severe limitation in eyesight, hearing or speech.

Pay: $19.00 - $19.55 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
