The Wellsville YMCA is looking for Fitness Instructors! We need high energy individuals who are motivated to impact the wellness of our community! Classes are offered throughout the week at various times depending on business need and instructor availability. In the same department Wellness Floor Attendants are needed as well with the ability to receive more scheduled hours!
POSITION SUMMARY:
Instructs group classes, provides excellent service to members in a safe, enjoyable, and positive environment that promotes member wellness and engagement in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.
This position also treats everyone with courtesy, respect and consideration; displays integrity; listens actively and genuinely; communicates in a clear and pleasant manner; embraces differences among people; demonstrates an active willingness to learn and grow; accepts constructive criticism; works cooperatively as a team member.
Greets everyone by using names whenever possible; extends thanks whenever appropriate; makes relationship building the number one priority at all times. This position is responsible for ensuring that the mission, purpose, image and core values of the YMCA is conveyed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Leads group classes, as directed by the supervisor, to accomplish the YMCA mission and goals.
Conducts energizing, fun, safe, and educational classes.
Builds effective relationships with members; helps members connect with each other and the YMCA.
Maintains working knowledge of wellness and trends to provide effective information and support to members.
Keeps accurate class attendance records.
Follows YMCA policies and procedures; responds to emergency situations.

Responsible for maintaining a quality fitness area and experience within the YMCA facility. Provide fitness instruction, education, motivation, and member services. Responsible for continuous high quality customer service which includes but is not limited to meeting customer needs and presenting a positive attitude toward the YMCA, its staff and programs. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Greet members as they enter facility.
2. Interact with members on the fitness floor.
3. Provide member orientation for the fitness area and equipment.
4. Assist members with proper set up on exercise equipment.
5. Ensure all facility policies and procedures are followed.
6. Maintain clean exercise area by: cleaning and sanitizing exercise equipment; returning
equipment to proper place; reporting any mechanical failures to the supervisor.
