Job Description

Certified water system operator and experienced water well system Field Technicians.

Will consider an entry level field support apprentice to train for and learn a new and rewarding career as a Well Water system Field Technician.

This is a great opportunity for someone starting out or desiring to transition to a new career. Duties include; diagnosing and repairing electrical and electronic well control systems, diagnosing and repairing well plumbing systems, diagnosing and repairing all types of water wells, well pumps, pipe, wiring, Well Water storage systems and well systems operations.

A Field Technician will:

Perform a variety of skilled, technical, and administrative work in the operation, repair, maintenance, and replacement of complex water well equipment and treatment processes, which can include but are not limited to:

Safe, efficient, and effective operation and maintenance of company operated public water systems.

Monitor, observe variations, and interpret the performance of all equipment, gauges, meters, control panels, and charts to determine processing requirements.

Perform preventative maintenance and repair on machinery and equipment. Update and maintain completed records of maintenance performed in compliance with company policy and manufacture recommendation.

Extract samples and perform routine and non-routine laboratory tests and analysis. Assemble instruments and equipment for analytical or research work. Clean, maintain and store equipment properly.

Maintain accurate records, reports, and logging of all pertinent information required in the operation of a water system including any treatment processes. Prepare and submit monthly operations and performance reports to office and client as directed, meeting deadlines.

Represent the company to other agencies and customers/potential customers with a courteous, helpful, accurate and business-like attitude; display a commitment to Customer Service. Respond to customer/client complaints and resolve such complaints in a fair and expeditious manner.

Order, store and account for chemicals and other materials and supplies in the most costs-effective manner, including coding of invoices.

Ensure the general maintenance of buildings, grounds, and company equipment, including vehicles and tools is performed. Tools should be returned to their proper place and grounds/building should be "tour-ready" at all times.

Diagnose and repair of well pumps and controls.

Operate a pump rig and conduct service calls

Continually evaluate other market potential.

Other duties as assigned or needed.

Compensation will be based on certifications and years of experience.

 

Requirements

HS diploma or equivalent.

Level 1 water distribution and treatment certifications from the State of Alaska, or working towards such.

Valid driver's license with clean driving record (no DUI within the past 5 years) to operate company vehicles.

Strong mechanical skills to repair related water equipment.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting skills with the ability to prioritize workloads.

Required to work weekends and on-call based on a rotating schedule.

Operating knowledge of computers and related software.

Ability to work outside in varying weather conditions.

Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and safely work with heavy equipment.

Compensation is based on certifications and experience.
