ExxonMobil's state-of-the-art campus north of Houston serves as home to its Upstream, Product Solutions and Low Carbon Solutions businesses and their associated service groups. The facility opened in 2014 and accommodates more than 10,000 employees and visitors.

What role you will play in our team
- ExxonMobil is seeking a qualified and experienced individual to provide operational Well Testing expertise for a variety of projects including Conventional Oil & Gas exploration and appraisal projects and Carbon Capture & Storage (CCS).
- The successful candidates will be responsible for working with multi-discipline teams (reservoir / wells / geoscience / service companies) to provide support in well test design, planning, operational readiness, on-site supervision of rig operations, data quality assurance, Pressure Transient Analysis, and reporting.
- Travel required both domestically and internationally. Both longer trips up to 4 weeks per trip up to 3 trips per year and shorter trips can be expected (2-5 days) periodically.
- The position is located at ExxonMobil Spring campus in Texas, with extended global travel to domestic and international onsite operational locations.
- ExxonMobil will not consider qualified candidates without permanent right to work in the US.
What you will do
Rig based activities; the candidate must be proficient with:
- Supervision of well test operations, including rig-up activities and equipment readiness in addition to normal well flowing and shut-in activities
- Demonstrated safety leader of Well Testing flowback operations and have an understanding of wellbore and surface safety systems
- Data acquisition and Quality Control of the well test data
- Supervision of on-site fluid analysis and fluid sampling, flow assurance (chemical injection, zero environmental incidents)
- The operation of equipment and technologies, both surface and downhole used for well test operations and data acquisition
- Daily operations reporting, data QA/QC, Pressure Transient Analysis and preliminary report writing
- At a minimum cursory knowledge of well completions, well servicing and work-over operations
Office based activities; the candidate must be proficient with:
- Well test design: both reservoir and wellbore hydraulics
- Suitable applications and key limitations of current Well Testing equipment and technologies, both surface and downhole
- Pre-test planning: quality data acquisition, operational readiness, flow assurance, hydrocarbon disposition, fluid sampling and on-site fluid analysis
- Data QA/QC, data integration, Pressure Transient Analysis and formal report writing
About You
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering - preferably Petroleum, Chemical, or Mechanical
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience in a well test engineering role (deepwater experience required)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills. Able to adapt communication style between leading onsite team and relaying technical information to office-based team.
- Conversant with Pressure Transient Analysis software, ideally with Kappa Saphir
