RESPONSIBILITIES:
Local manufacturing firm is seeking a Welding Process Supervisor-Monitor to be primarily responsible for precluding procedure violations and relative quality escapes by:
- Fitter/Welder Workmanship Training:
Level III backed training provided to all welding personnel after onboarding which, upon successful completion, qualifies them to weld MIL-SPEC scope within applicable process parameters. - Daily Welding Process Audits:
Check for completeness of Initial Daily Start-up Sheets
Procedural adherence to the appropriate weld standard
Company provided Welder’s Tool Kit maintenance by specific welder
Machine checks
Oversee daily weld metal issue by department - Weld Metal Issue monitoring:
Ensure each department’s process meets WI-11-004 (pending)
Aware of all stock to job transfers. Heavy Fab – FCAW & GMAW only - Pre-hire candidate testing/analysis. Advancing current welding qualifications
- Welder Maintenance (Quarterly/Semi-annual/Annual):
To qualified procedures
Eye exams - Production Support for First Time Quality:
Informal VT (when requested) Approach review (when requested)
A basic understanding of cost and schedule requirements by job
Support Production Managers with timely submittals of Job WIRs - Support and advise Maintenance department on OEM Machine Maintenance requirements for all hot work equipment:
Submit request for maintenance per OEM’s recommended frequency. Performed by Maintenance or outside service provider
Proper disposition of discrepant machines
Emergent maintenance
Annual machine calibrations in concert with QA department - Planner support related to technical clarity or material estimates as needed:
Planning for and ordering the proper type and quantity of weld filler metal as requested - Experience and ability to program procedure driven parameters into applicable welding machines is preferred.
