Job Description
Job Title: Welder fabricator
Department: Harmony Products, Inc.
Reports To: Department manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Summary
Read and interpret drawings. Fabricate, assemble and weld both aluminum and steel parts for both work in process and finished good parts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned:
- Must obey all safety policies and requirements
- Regular attendance is required, with proper notification for absences, in accordance with the company’s Attendance Policy
- Read and interpret drawings
- Weld both aluminum and steel
- Adhere to strict tolerance for size and quality per the customer specifications
- Maintain daily production report and record
- Report defective material
- Set up table for fabrication, assembly and welding
- Place completed parts in proper carts with proper identification
- Inspect jigs, welders and assembly tools for for wear and maintenance related issues. Report any issues to supervisor
- Keep machine shields and guards in proper place
- Report any injury or incident when it occurs

Education and/or Experience
Welder must pass the written and field test provided onsite by HPI.
Ability to read and write
Language Skills
Ability to read a limited number of two and three syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide. Must be able to use and understand tape measure in 1/16” increments
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed one or two step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with occasional variables.
Safety
Employees must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required in each production department. Employees are required to follow all safety rules as outlined in the HPI Employee Manual

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move (up to 1/3 of the time) up to 50 pounds. Employee may be required to utilize mobile equipment to move and place materials
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

The noise level in the work environment is moderate.
