Analyze assignment and determine most effective procedure. Assemble, fit, tack and weld a variety of complex fabrications and assemble. Must be able to relate to others, possess written and verbal skills, reasoning, math and language skills,
Job Requirements
Work from drawings, sketches, and a minimum of instruction.
- Assemble parts in proper sequence, place bracing in correct location to minimize distortion.
- Perform welding operations such as arc, MIG, TIG brazing and burning in all positions on a variety of metals.
- Operate drill press to make parts for fabrication.
- Utilize crane and material handling equipment.
- Use precision measuring tools.
- Follow instructions and established procedures.
- Record measurements, record pertinent information as required.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Read and interpret prints, including welding prints
- Weld per SMAW, GMAW, GTAW standards; vertical up, vertical down, and horizontal
- Plasma arc cutting
- Air carbon arc cutting
- Pipe bending, fitting, welding, and threading
- Use horizontal and vertical saws, torch, and cut off wheel
- Set up and operate all welding machines, be able to do basic troubleshooting
- Set up and operate all machines in the fabrication area, be able to do basic troubleshooting
