Welder Fabricator Foreman
We are looking for a motivated, experienced Welder Fabricator to join our company as a Welder Fabricator Forman. You will follow construction drawings and shop drawings, determine the material required, verify measurements, and take responsibility for leading the team of fabricating structural and miscellaneous steel components. You are responsible for the quality of the team's output, so you must be able to ensure weld quality and tolerance are met by the team.
As the shop foreman, you will be responsible for managing the shop floor operations and ensuring that our production processes are safe, efficient, productive, and of the highest quality. You will also be responsible for the safety of our workers and for ensuring that they are properly trained and equipped to perform their jobs.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for running a steel shop.
- Fabricate and weld a variety of components
- Follow blueprints to ensure exact specifications of output
- Produces strong, clean welds
- Hire, lead, and mentor fabrication team.
- Test output to ensure strength and tolerance of welds
- Practice Safety Procedures and Policies
- Sets up Welding Equipment by the Appropriate Weld Process
- Performs Maintenance on Job-Related Equipment if needed
- Operate Equipment such as Forklifts, Scissor Lifts, Boom Lifts, etc..
- Performs other duties as assigned by ownership
Requirements and Qualifications
- Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in welding, fitting, and structural steel/ iron.
- 3 years prior steel fabrication shop Foreman Experience
- Experience working within a start-up steel company is a plus
- Knowledge of production scheduling, inventory control, and quality control processes
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong leadership and interpersonal Skills
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Familiarity with common welding tools and procedures, including MIG welding TIG welding, metal fabricating, grinding, and finishing metals.
- Operate Equipment such as Forklifts, Scissor Lifts, Boom Lifts.
- Ability to stand, crouch, and occasionally lift heavy equipment.
- Blueprint reading and knowledge of common welding symbols
- Pass GMAW weld test.
