The Purpose:
Immediate opening for a Welder with experience in different types of metals (including aluminum, steel, and stainless steel) and using multiple types of metal equipment (including bender, grinders, saw, etc.). Candidate must be able to read blueprints and have a minimum of three years of experience working in a metal shop. Candidate will be responsible for creating all forms of metal fabrication from start to finish to facilitate building tradeshow displays for clients. The ability to maintain high quality standards and accuracy in their work is critical for this position.
The Job:
- Must have aluminum TIG, steel MIG and stick welding experience.
- Basic measuring and fabrication skills.
- Capable of reading blueprints and/or other written/oral instructions to determine sequence and methods of fabricating and welding.
- Ability to create a cut list and track all material used.
- Operates machinery in a safe manner and reports hazards associated with the equipment to management.
- Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
- Maintains and produces a high-level quality of output; monitors own work to ensure quality.
- Possesses good time management skills to complete the job at hand in a timely manner and within budget.
- Complies with all safety guidelines and procedures, as well as company policies.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

- Employee is required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
- Employee understands that the position is very active, and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day.
- Employee must frequently lift or move items over 50 pounds.
- Employee must possess specific vision abilities, to include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time position with days and hours of work from Monday through Friday, 6am to 4:30pm (subject to change). The position is subject to mandatory overtime during peak season, with the possibility of working upwards of 12 hours per day, including weekends.
The Person:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Minimum of three years of experience working in a metal shop
- Construction background helpful
- Exhibit industry and installation experience helpful
- Must have a basic set of tools and welding gear
- Reliable transportation
- Basic math skills
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and short correspondence
