Welder on 3rd Shift
Starting at $20+ $2 shift differential
OVERALL SUMMARY
Under direct supervision - Responsible for various types of weld preparation, welding and weld finishing operations to manufacture product to customer drawings, specifications, or other forms of instruction. Mon -Thurs 8pm to 6am possible OT on Friday.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Proficient in assigned welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, and stick welding
Interpretation of mechanical drawings, including weld requirement symbols
Knowledge of wire and filler materials applications for various steel alloys, aluminum, and some exotic materials
Working knowledge of fixturing and weld set up parameters (amps, volts, etc.)
Conventional and precision measuring instruments
Process inspection, certification, and documentation
Welding equipment maintenance
Finish grinding applications using manual and power tools
Safety and Housekeeping
Requires good attendance and punctuality
Other duties as assigned by the area supervisor
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Individual must possess these knowledge's, skills, and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.
Successful completion of an internal welding test, and the ability to achieve certification
Bluco or Fitting experience strongly
Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing
Good math and measurement skills
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
Ability to manage several projects simultaneously
Able to bend, reach, push, pull and put parts into positions for welding.
Able to lift 50-lbs. frequently and 100-lbs. occasionally from a floor or bench level to a welding table or fixture.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School diploma, or equivalent
One year experience in various forms of welding, preferably in a job shop environment
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Ability to squat, bend, and reach overhead
Ability to push and pull up to 50 lbs
Ability to climb up and down trucks
Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.
WORK ENVIRONMENT

The majority of the time will be inside conditions with protection from weather conditions, but not necessarily from temperature changes. Some work is outside working conditions with no control over weather conditions.
There are high noise levels and vibration associated with this job. Sources include: engine noise, Shear/Break Press operation, air compressors, sledge hammer noise, air powered equipment, and other shop noises.
There are a variety of physical hazards in which there is danger to life, health, or bodily injury, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving equipment, heavy parts, electrical shock, engine exhaust, working on elevated equipment, exposure to burns, and exposure to explosives (gases).
Machines, tools, equipment, and work aids which may be representative, but not all inclusive, of those commonly associated with this type of work.
Air power tools, electric drill, drill press, grinders (both hand and bench), wrenches, torches, welders, a variety of hand tools, air chipping hammers, and electric cords.
