Weld Specialist I
Reporting line(s) Production Supervisor
Entry-level position. Basic MIG welding skills with TIG Development Plan
The Fabrication Weld Specialist I is responsible for:
- Basic MIG welding of thin-gauge 304 stainless steel tubing, brackets, and assemblies
- High-volume production output to be monitored against production standard rates
- Quality standards include the integrity of welds and also visual criteria (product is a consumer product, and visual appearance and brand perception are critical
- Shaping, fitting, and welding of raw materials as per our manufacturing jigs
- Maintenance and security of all manufacturing jigs
- Running machines such as bandsaw, tube cutters, deburr, Resizing dies, metal benders, CNC, etc. as required at times to support product flow
- Executing all work assigned in a timely and accurate manner against time and quality standards
- Perform Daily TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) reviews for all assigned equipment. Clean area, machines, etc.
- Provide input and ideas for continuous improvements that can be made in process, equipment, or tools
- Other duties as assigned
Responsibilities
Beyond the normal activities as covered above, the Fabrication Weld Specialist I is also responsible for:
- AWE Tuning event attendance and working as needed
- Maintaining an on-brand and tidy work environment
- Presenting professionally both in the workplace and when representing AWE Tuning outside the facility
Accountabilities
The success of the role will be based upon a mix of:
- Quality and accuracy of work, as measured by your Supervisor
- Volume of work, as dictated and measured by your Supervisor
- Completion of TIG Development Plan
- Adherence to employee handbook and company policies.
- Time Tracking clocking in and out.
- Attendance clock in and out, including lunch break (30 minutes)
Qualifications:
- Highschool Diploma or equivalent, trade school or certifications preferred
- Minimum of 1 year experience in MIG welding, manufacturing, or other related fields
- 1 – 3 years of metal fabrication experience
- Proficient in measuring, cutting, deburring, and staging of raw materials
