RemX is seeking a Weld Engineer for our client in Catoosa, OK. This is an on-site role.
$40 hourly - Requires 1+ years Welding & AutoCAD experience.
The Job:
Specifies ASME BPVC Section VIII, Division 1, and customer specification compliant welding procedures, weld joint configuration, and coordinates weld procedure/welder qualification by performing the following described duties:
Job Duties:

  • Actively develop new welding procedures and welding methods.
  • Liaison between Engineering & Header Bay personnel.
  • Communicate with customers regarding welding issues.
  • Review and assign Welding Procedure Specifications for jobs.
  • Maintain welder qualifications and test methods for both the American Welding Society and Canadian Welding Bureau concerning the structure department.
  • Calculate weld consumables.
  • Maintain the Welding Procedure Specification and Procedure Qualification Report database with current procedures.
  • Maintain and coordinate Pressure Equipment Directive Certification.
  • Develop and publish Welding Procedure Specifications, Procedure Qualification Reports, and Tube-to-Tube Sheet mock-ups.
  • Review and accommodate welding specifications.
  • Submit requisitions for laboratory work.


Requirements:

  • Personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, and AutoCAD.
  • 1yr post-high school education specifically related to welding is required. (Vo-tech, military, & community college all considered.)
  • BS engineering degree preferred.
  • Must have a working knowledge of ASME BPVC Section VIII, Division 1, and Section IX.
  • Must have working knowledge of AWS D1.1
  • Must have knowledge of Strength of Materials and be able to perform basic engineering strength calculations.
  • Must have a basic understanding of welding metallurgy & heat treatment.
  • Preference is given to individuals with the following (or similar) certifications:
    • AWS: CWI, CWEng, SCWI
    • CWB: Certified welding supervisor, Certified welding engineer
    • API: 510, 570, 653
