Big and Tiny is a Boutique School founded in Santa Monica, CA with a second location in New York City. Our mission is to cultivate a supportive community of families and bring high quality, flexibility, and creative approach to early childhood education.

We are looking to hire a passionate and highly experienced Weekend Preschool Art Teacher with Customer Service experience to lead activities and program for children ages 2-5 yrs at our Battery Park school on weekends.
The Teachers for our weekend programming at the Battery Park school will serve as a representative for Big and Tiny in NYC, ensuring that Big and Tiny’s philosophy, quality, and care are being effectively implemented at this location.
Our Big and Tiny Weekend Teacher candidate is a creative and entrepreneurial team player that is passionate about working with children and families. They are confident, outgoing, organized, and self-driven, and are excited at the prospect of developing and growing at a new location with a tight-knit team.
Required Experience and Qualifications:
- Has a background in the Arts (art: painting, drawing, sculpting, etc, music, sign language, yoga, gymnastics, dance or related field)
- Experience with drop-off programs and ability to manage a group of students on their own
- Weekend Availability
- Customer Service Experience Required
- Live scan fingerprint/background check.
As a Big and Tiny Weekend Teacher you will:
- Care and work with children ranging from 2 years to 6 years of age; teaching a program that incorporates the arts and unique skill set of the teacher and exciting activities in a positive, noncompetitive fun environment
- Prioritize safety and social-emotional learning in all situations.
- Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem.
- Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed arts-integrated curriculum.
- Provide ideas for a well-designed project/program for a 2 hour span of time
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
- Adapt and excel in a continuously changing environment, making a childs needs their primary focus.
- Fully engage in physical activities with children by kneeling, stooping, sitting on the floor, standing for a long time, and dynamically moving in/leading group activities (i.e. jump, dance, walk).
- Must be able to see/hear well enough to monitor the classroom to keep children safe at all times.
