The Activities Assistant is to assist the Activity Director in planning, organizing, developing, and directing the overall operations of the Activity Department, as may be directed by the Administrator, to assure that an on-going program of activities is designed to meet the interests and the physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being of each resident.
Responsibilities:
1. Assist in documenting all interactions with the resident and/or family in the assessment, care plan and progress notes.
2. Participate as an active member of the interdisciplinary team and attend all resident care conferences.
3. Assist in planning and implementing Reality Orientation programs when appropriate.
4. Assist in planning and conducting activity programs to assist residents to return to the community.
Work Conditions:
· Works in office areas of the facility and its premises.
· Moves intermittently during working hours.
· Is subject to frequent interruptions.
· Is involved with residents, personnel, visitors, government agencies/personnel, etc. under all conditions/circumstances.
· Is subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents, family members, personnel, and visitors.
· Works on weekends and holidays when necessary.
· Is subject to callback during emergency conditions (i.e. severe weather, evacuation, post-disaster, etc.).
· May be involved in community/civic health matters/projects.
