Description
The W&E Sales Manager is responsible for planning and executing the needs of all wedding and social events. The W&E Sales Manager is a goal oriented, self-disciplined, creative that has the ability to communicate the quality and value of the products and services we offer. They are responsible for building business for the company through; direct and indirect organic sales initiatives, marketing and promotions, industry connections, and by cultivating repeat business and referrals.
The W&E Sales Manager always holds themselves to the highest standards with our clients to create fantastic experiences for their once-in-a-lifetime moments. To accomplish this, they will work closely with the buyers, production and design teams to ensure the product is delivered as promised. This position is expected to lead the team in accomplishing all sales goals while staying relevant and competitive in today’s wedding and event market.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for maintaining a healthy pipeline of inquiries and prospects, while also taking a proactive approach to finding new business to meet or exceed sales goals
- Ensure the team responds to inquiries, schedule consultations, and creates proposals based on the clients personalized vision in a timely manner.
- Handle contracts, negotiations, deposits and final payment of events including account reconciliations after events according to company policy
- Review menu and floral selections with flower buyer, design, and Production Manager to ensure are florals and hardgoods are ordered and received on time
- Develops floral production sheets to communicate specifics to event production and installation teams and to ensure proper scheduling of team members for events
- Follows up with client to receive feedback, ensure satisfaction or addresses concerns
- Build relationships with vendors and network with others in the wedding/event industry
- Research and keep up with the trends evolving in the wedding industry to ensure a competitive advantage
- Partners with Marketing Manager to create a wedding/events marketing strategy and to relay all promotions/holidays/specials to a book of contacts (concierge, event planners, etc.)
- Build all sales associates within the department. Teaching them the knowledge, skills and materials to answer customers’ inquiries, request of orders, and/or resolve problems quickly and effectively.
- Provide coaching, feedback or formal corrective action if needed.
- Interacts in a positive, cooperative and professional manner, with all levels of employees, vendors and/or clients, in a team environment.
- Schedules weekly meetings with wedding/event staff to discuss agenda for the week
- Conducts monthly departmental meetings and implements the company’s engagement policy.
Skills
- Must be available to work weekdays, weekends, holidays, as needed based on event schedules
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite
- Curate, salesforce, or other CRM or event planning software is a plus
- Preferred background in Event, Restaurant, Hotel or Entertainment Industry
- Must have proven wedding/event sales track record with at least 5 years of experience
- Must be knowledgeable with color and design, and have an eye for creativity. Knowledge in florals is preferred.
- Must have at least 2 years experience in leading or managing a team
