Wedding & Event Coordinator
Location: Columbia & Waterloo, Illinois - Our company operates three locations that are within 12 miles of each other. It is expected for the approved candidate to be working in person at these various locations.
Job Summary:
The Wedding & Event Coordinator will support the guest experience through sales and wedding reservations as well as coordinating the day of wedding activities. This includes but is not limited to hosting tours, creating specialty events, communicating with clients/vendors and assisting in our guest’s sweetest day. Balancing multiple priorities, influencing others and driving revenue are critical to the success of a Wedding & Event Coordinator.
Responsibilities:
- Wedding service coordination
- This is mostly a weekend postion with meetings and hours throughout the week depending on the event schedule.
- Facilitate site inspections
- Coordinate amenities and guest recovery
- Professionally handle incoming
- client calls and emails. You will be the primary contact for clients and vendors as well as the day of coordinator.
- File preparation and turnover to catering services
- Support leadership in administrative tasks
- Lead set ups and the cleaning of the venue. Typical activities include but are not limited to setting up tables and chairs, folding napkins, placing linens, polishing and setting dishes, and cleaning venue.
- Handle client issues and concerns with leader guidance
- Provide back up support to other sale assistants and coordinators
- Ability to build relationships quickly
Basic Qualifications:
- Passion for creating beautiful events
- Minimum one year Hospitality/Sales experience
- Demonstrated computer proficiency within a Windows environment
- Demonstrated strong Guest Service skills
- Demonstrated strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Demonstrated strong partnering skills
- Demonstrated strong facilitation and presentation skills
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, as well as telephone etiquette skills
- Demonstrated strong business planning and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated strong networking skills
- Demonstrated strong negotiating and influencing abilities
- Demonstrated ability to share creative and new ideas
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven sales and/or marketing experience
- 1-2 years of experience in wedding events or group hospitality industry
- Proficient with Caterease
The successful candidate that is selected for this position must be hands on and will be required to make the time for client meetings, along with organizing, planning, set-up and menu analysis to the client’s satisfaction. The ideal Sugar

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 24 – 30 per week
