The Product Description Writer will be responsible for creating and maintaining unique and engaging Product Descriptions for the CBI website and other marketing efforts. Additionally, this position will be responsible for categorizing items by line, collection etc. for the CBI website.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Writes creative, clear, concise, and brand-correct web copy.

2. Ensures the accuracy of the copy and product information, tracks and accounts for errors and updates all copy as directed.

3. Responsible for writing and developing high quality customer focused ecommerce content, including persuasive copy for product pages and landing pages.

4. Will interact with ERP Software and Purchasing Dept. to collect accurate information for the Product Description as needed.

5. The Ecommerce Copy writer will own the product, providing personality, and bringing life to the product.

6. Detail and efficiency are key for this position.

7. Seasonally this position may be asked to help with Show Book Flyer development and cropping/color correcting item images.

8. Ability to learn item types and why items are grouped together so customers can easily find on the CBI website.

9. Other duties to be assigned.

Qualifications

1. Proven ability to write with purpose, infusing copy with emotion.

2. Writing skills, grammar and punctuation knowledge is mandatory.

3. Knowledge and familiarity with similar products.

4. Detail orientated.

5. Results driven.

6. Must maintain a high level of consistency across work to reflect one CBI voice in copy.

7. Must be proficient in all Microsoft Office programs and familiar with office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, scanners, and fax machines.

8. Graphic design and video creation and editing skills with knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.

9. Must be able to work independently, but also work well with the Marketing and Purchasing team members to achieve goals.

Working Conditions

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Requirements

This is primarily a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. Occasionally required to climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

Product Description Writer will report directly to the Marketing Manager.

8:00 am -5:00 pm, M-F 40 hours a week at CBI office. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
