Web Developer Intern

Interested in gaining experience and developing your career as a Web Developer? Farmers Mutual is a growing company and seeking a Web Developer Internfor the summer. This is an in-person and paid internship at our Home Office, which is located in downtown Lincoln, NE. We offer free off-street parking. Our office is only a few blocks away from the downtown SCC and UNL campuses. This is NOT a remote position. You must be available to work in Lincoln, NE for this internship.

General Function of the Web Developer Intern Position:

Web Developer Interns are responsible for, but not limited to, writing applications in languages including C#, VB.NET, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript as assigned by the Applications Programming Manager and/or Web Development Supervisor.

Web Developer Intern Duties and Responsibilities:

• Build, test, debug and maintain web applications.
• Build and maintain SQL databases.
• Develop and maintain documentation for all web applications written or assigned for maintenance.
• Make recommendations for improvements to existing or new web applications.
• Serve as coordinator with the user department when web applications are changed or new web applications are implemented.
• Develop skills to create and interpret system descriptions.
• Make extensive use of resources on web development standards and skills.
• Provide technical training and support to Junior Web Developers.
• Report to work on a timely and regular basis.

Web Developer Intern Qualifications:

• Successful completion of courses in ASP.NET development using VB/C#, or equivalent combination of education, training, and work-related experience.
• Must possess ability to work on own initiative recognizing the timeliness of all responsibilities and functions of the job.
• Effective organizational and problem-solving skills are needed.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
