Job Summary

The Front-end Web Developer will primarily support the eCommerce channels for several brands under the Galls umbrella. In this role, you will be part of our Digital Experience Team working closely with our existing front-end web development team and our back-end software development team to improve and extend the user experience on our sites.

In this role, you will work with stakeholders to translate their vision into functional features and pages that deliver a smooth shopping experience for our customers. You will also be responsible for implementing quality standards and practices, ensuring features and pages perform well across a range of devices.

The ideal candidate is proficient in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript; understands eCommerce best practices; and maintains excellent code hygiene practices.

What You’ll Do:

• Develop and maintain user-friendly eCommerce site pages using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Implement responsive design principles to ensure excellent experiences across various devices.
• Work closely with stakeholders to translate concepts or mockups into appealing and usable features and pages.
• Collaborate with back-end developers to integrate back-end data with front-end components on our eCommerce platform.
• Optimize pages for performance, speed, and scalability to enhance the user’s overall shopping experience.
• Ensure cross-browser and cross-device compatibility, addressing any compatibility issues that arise.
• Conduct thorough testing of features, pages, and releases to identify and resolve usability and performance issues.
• Participate in code reviews, provide feedback, and maintain high code hygiene standards.
• Document development specifications and contribute to project documentation as needed.
• Maintain an up to date understanding of eCommerce principles, tools, trends, and best practices.
  

What You Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills.
• Communication and cross-functional team collaboration skills.
• Enthusiasm and energy for helping the team, completing the project, or executing the task.
• Proactive mindset and creative business initiative.
