Position: Web Developer / Web Accessibility Specialist / UX
Part time: 10-20 hours/week
Pay Rate: $35/hour
Location: Milwaukee, WI (hybrid - 40% onsite)
Duration: 9 month contract

Job Description:
The Office of Aging and Disability Services (ADS) is hiring a part-time contract position to lead the implementation of web accessibility upgrades to their website. This role will work in collaboration with manual testers and departments’ lead digital content authors to implement accessibility changes. In addition to implementing changes that require a high degree of familiarity with navigating content management systems, this role with meet with the Information Management Systems team monthly to share accessibility upgrades that require greater backend support.
Requirements:
- A solid understanding of web development technologies and how they impact the UX - user experience.
- Experience with HTML is required but developing user interfaces is not.
- A strong background in web development.
- Familiarity with mobile and desktop screen readers.
- Works well in a team environment
- Strong interpersonal capabilities and ability to work cross-functionally with roles on different teams.
- Ability to explore and find solutions to problems independently.
