Senior Web Designer

MARS Solutions Group is looking for an experienced Senior Web Designer located in Milwaukee, WI. Our client is a government agency looking for high-quality talent to make a difference. They are known to respect a traditional work week and often extend contracts for added job security and stability.

Note:This is a part-time position 10-20 hours a week. Must be a current Wisconsin resident or willing to relocate at their own expense. Hybrid position with 40% on-site.

Job Description:

• The client is hiring a part-time, contract position to lead the implementation of web accessibility upgrades to their website.
• This role will work in collaboration with Site Improve's manual testers and departments' lead digital content authors to implement accessibility changes.
• In addition to implementing changes that require a high degree of familiarity with navigating content management systems, this role will meet with the client's Information Management Systems team monthly to share accessibility upgrades that require greater backend support.
• This role will meet with the Internal Communications Project Manager weekly to assess the progress of accessibility updates.

Job Requirements:

• The skills and experience necessary for this role are:
• A solid understanding of web development technologies and how they impact the user experience.
• Experience with HTML is required but developing user interfaces is not.
• A strong background in web development.
• Familiarity with mobile and desktop screen readers.
• Works well in a team environment
• Strong interpersonal capabilities and ability to work cross-functionally with roles on different teams.
• Ability to explore, be a self-starter, and find solutions to problems independently.

Top Skills & Years of Experience:
