The Web Content Specialist will be responsible for developing a content strategy as well as planning and creating relevant content to achieve our business goals. The candidate for this position will understand the importance of the customer experience and optimizing UX content. This role will work cross-functionally to brainstorm creative ways of engaging the audience online and produce those engaging content types.
Job Responsbilities for Web Content Marketing Specialist:
- Create website experiences that drive sales and result in an increase in lead generation and customer acquisition.
- Add new products via our CMS software and manage existing items and product categories, including product descriptions, photography, and SEO tags.
- Continuously monitor and analyze website performance, reporting on key metrics, and optimizing for SEO and speed.
- Interpret our marketing strategy to create functional and visually engaging interactive web applications.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously enhance our e-commerce offerings.
- Come up with new web features as well as maintaining all aspects of web usability, content, and design.
- Conduct testing and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance and security of web applications.
- Implement and customize features such as product listings, checkout processes, abandoned cart follow-ups, etc.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate web solutions with back-end systems and databases.
- Conduct content audits to review the website regularly, including 404 errors, broken links, and accessibility reports, to fix content delivery issues.
- Review and triage all incoming web edit requests, completing, assigning, or escalating requests as needed.
- Track KPIs to inform marketing activity, analyze SEO, Acquisition, and Retention activities, and optimize key metrics (including traffic, revenue, conversion, and engagement).
Knowledge & Skills required for a Web Content Specialist:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, business, computer science, or related field preferred.
- 3-5 years of relevant work experience.
- Experience working with ecommerce/digital platforms.
- Excellent understanding of web design and web analysis.
- Familiarity with A/B testing and UX/UI design principles.
- Experience in web development – including responsive design, front-end development, SEO, and custom applications.
- Preferred experience with HTML, CSS, and/or JavaScript.
- Experience with Big Commerce, HubSpot, highly desired.
- Knowledge of graphic design principles and tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite).
