MoveOn is a people-powered force for progress. We wield independent political power by bringing millions together to take action to create a country with a place of honor and dignity for everyone-where all are welcome, we take care of one another, and where everyone is set up to thrive.
For more than a generation, MoveOn has been a bulwark against the radical right and has channeled millions of voices to end wars, protect democracy, and advance justice for all. We've built political power for progressive change through mobilizing the left to Democrats so that we can advance our vision of an America for all.
MoveOn is the largest multi-issue digital-first political campaigning organization in the country. We drive rapid-response campaigns at scale on a multitude of key issues at high-impact moments while building sustainable campaigns that resonate and grow over time. Whether it's democracy, health care, foreign policy, economic justice, immigration, or otherwise, MoveOn provides our members with timely ways to take action for change.
The Web Content Manager is a key role responsible for leveraging MoveOn's website to engage millions of existing members and recruit new ones to our mission. This role will develop and execute a dynamic website strategy aligned with communication, SEO, brand, membership, and fundraising goals. Serve as the primary stakeholder for Web Content for our Product team on UX and site design projects.
  • Facilitate the process of posting news releases, statements, blogs, homepage updates, and other content to the organization's website and works with stakeholders to create content with compelling, keyword-rich headlines, body content, and calls to actions for both broad and niche online audiences. Design and deliver comprehensive WordPress training sessions for users to optimize platform proficiency.

A successful candidate will:
  • Demonstrate exceptional writing skills for an online audience, ranging from short and compelling to long-form content.
  • Effectively manage time, demonstrating the ability to plan and be nimble while maintaining a strict schedule as needed.
  • Have expertise around latest digital trends, technologies, and ever-evolving algorithm changes to inform our digital tactics and strategies.
  • Ensure that our Web Content is user-friendly and accessible to provide a positive and valuable user experience.
  • Be detail-oriented and data-focused, with the ability to think analytically to problem-solve and to clearly communicate with colleagues as timelines change.
  • Be skilled and thoughtful regarding nuanced communication related to race, gender, class, and other aspects of identity in your internal and external communications.

Required skills and experience
  • 4-5 years experience in managing content through WordPress, showcasing a strong understanding of HTML, CSS, and Search Engine Optimization strategies.
  • Must have a solid familiarity with utilizing Google Analytics for insightful data analysis.
  • Demonstrated success in overseeing editorial calendars or digital projects, with a history of effectively prioritizing tasks and coordinating seamlessly with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with Optimizely and Airtable is preferred but not required.
