Web and App Manager
Location: Central Office
Reports to: Marketing Lead
Summary of Role
Primary contact in all aspects of the Church website(s) and apps. Provide oversight for the deployment, management, routine site and content maintenance, and updates to ensure all sites align with the goals and objectives to connect people to Christ through the Church.
Position Status & Schedule
- Exempt, Salary
- Full-time (40 hours)
- Sunday through Thursday, 9 am 5 pm
- Christmas, Easter and Dream Team Appreciation service dates and times are black out days for time off. There may be other events that you are required to work outside of your normal schedule, you will be informed in advance of any of these requirements.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Leadership
- Collaborate with Marketing Lead and IT team on current and future website(s) and app functionality
- Research and implement new technology pertaining to website(s) and apps
- Create and present project roadmaps, updates, and reporting as requested
Technical
- Collect, analyze, and create reports for web analytics and similar data; identify opportunities to improve search engine optimization (SEO), time on site(s), web traffic, and other relevant metrics
- Maintain current knowledge of best practices and emerging developments in web design, web development, and technology
- Publish website(s) and app content for all assigned websites and apps
- Maintain continuity of website(s) and application themes
- Streamline navigation processes for excellent user experience
- Manage website(s) and third-party integrations (forms, event calendar, subscriptions, sermons, etc.)
- Increase online footprint
- Work with the Church's IT Team to monitor website/app security
- Ensure continual functionality by preforming regular audits and make all necessary updates
- Solve technical and operational problems, repair broken links and fix reported bugs
- Coordinate and work with contractors as needed
- Develop and maintain website framework
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Willingness to work occasionally outside of normal business hours as needed for updates, maintenance, special events, etc.
Dream Team
- Build and maintain an active Dream Team
- Identify opportunities for Dream Team involvement
Financial
- Oversee budget related to website and app development and maintenance
- Utilize purchasing processes for approval, ordering, and payment of applicable services and items
- Enter expenses into applicable systems and maintain up-to-date expense reports

Competencies
- Understanding of the role of technology to support church vision and connect people to the local church
- Working knowledge of communication technology and internet
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to produce and maintain necessary documentation
- Must have understanding of web analytics
- Work well independently and understand the importance of team collaboration and preparation
- Capable of effectively utilizing web content management systems
- Ability to stay focused and flexible in a fast-paced environment
- Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills
Education & Experience
- 2+ years' experience in the Technology Field/Computer Science or website/app related field
- Proficient in macOS and Microsoft Office Suite
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time.
- Must be able to occasionally move about inside the office and Church facility.
- Must be able to position self to maintain supplies and equipment on lower shelves and in closets.
- Frequently move supplies and equipment weighing up to 20 pounds
- Constantly work in open office environment
