The West Chester University Foundation is currently searching for a Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations to join our dedicated, dynamic, and collaborative Development Team. The Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations is responsible for overseeing key aspects of the Foundation’s fundraising program with Corporations and Foundations, including the identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of Corporate prospects.
Essential Job Functions:
- Responsible for attaining an annual cash fundraising goal through corporate philanthropy, grants and event/program sponsorship.
- Responsible for a regular monthly schedule of personal solicitations with Corporate and Foundation partners.
- Develops strategy to attract and increase the number of donors and gift amounts from specific constituents.
- Coordinates and submits grant / proposal applications to corporations and/or foundations to seek private funding for college departments and programs in collaboration with the University’s Office of Research and Sponsored Programs.
- Works closely with Deans of the Colleges on fundraising priorities within the University and College; may plan and schedule appointments with the Dean or University partners when appropriate.
- Responsible for Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program (EITC) at WCUF/WCU including but not limited to renewal, stewardship, financial program management, and solicitation of new EITC donations.
- Attends community events as WCUF representative to develop strategic corporate relationships.
- Enters all contact reports in Raiser’s Edge (Blackbaud NXT) database within 72 hours of donor/prospect contact.
- Assists in staffing and managing stewardship and cultivation events for WCU Foundation.
- Mentors and develops staff using a supportive and collaborative approach; ensures staff members receive timely and appropriate training and development.
- Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the manager’s discretion.
Qualifications
Job Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and professional training in development. Graduate degree and/or CFRE certification preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in advancement or related field. Will be able to show evidence of significant personal solicitation experience.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in fundraising, grant writing and corporate relations in a higher education setting preferred.
- Willingness to travel and work outside traditional hours.
- Possess excellent communication skills and be able to relate to a diverse population.
- Will have a high level of interpersonal skills. (Position requires significant donor contact.)
- Demonstrates high integrity and a commitment to the mission of the Foundation.
- Sound analytical ability, good judgment and strong focus on results.
Typical Work Conditions:
- Work is performed in an office environment and/or remote environment (40%) based on manager discretion.
- Work is performed within and outside traditional work hours.
- Travel required for local, regional and national donor meetings and events.
- Use of personal devices (cell phone, personal computer, etc…) may be necessary on occasion to maintain business operations.
Typical Physical Demands:
- Regular use of hands to manipulate office tools and equipment, phones and computer keyboard.
- May lift and move office supplies up to 20 pounds.
- May stand, reach with hands and arms, stoop, and squat to file.
- May require long periods of sitting or standing (car/plane travel, events).
We are pleased to offer a competitive salary of $90,000 - $95,000/year commensurate with experience and ability. The position includes a full benefit package such as paid time off, medical, dental and life insurance, and employer contribution to retirement plan.
