Watersports Sales Consultant

The Watersports Sales Consultant is responsible for selling water toys and kayaks. Responsibilities include working with the customer, customer service, sales, cash handling and product merchandising.

Responsibilities:

• Acquire full knowledge of the complete product line, features and accessories available for purchase.
• Show products in the showroom, at off-site displays or shows, and demonstrate kayaks and toys on the water.
• Oversee the delivery of each unit sold.
• Cash Handling.
• Product Merchandising.
• Professionally lead and support customer events including demo days.
• Actively participate in boat shows and other off-site promotions.
• Project a professional and knowledgeable image at all times.
• Manage and organize leads and follow ups with clients.
• Be available to work full time, 5 days a week including some weekend days if scheduled.
• This position operates in an indoor/outdoor location where exposure to weather elements, dirt, and dust, unpleasant smells, and/or loud noises are possible.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate and converse with employees, maintain a stationary position (standing and sitting), move/traverse, kneel, bend, and reach with hands and arms for extended periods of time.
• The worker may be required to operate in close quarters, crawl spaces, small rooms, and narrow aisles and passageways. In order to effectively perform the essential functions of this role, the employee will be required to meet the physical demands of the field, which may include pedestrian survey in small areas, taking notes and recording resources; carrying the necessary field equipment; and other physical duties as directed by your Supervisor and/or the manager.
• This position requires the ability to stand to lift boxes of up to 50 pounds or more with assistance.
• Other duties may be assigned.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience working in the boat industry preferred
• Nautical ventures is willing to train although some sales experience is helpful but not necessary.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operations and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports.
• Ability to speak English effectively, ability to speak Spanish is preferable.
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office and Google Suites.

Position Type:

This is a full time position. Days and hours of work are generally Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. but are flexible based on need. Evening, night, and weekend work may be required as duties demand.
