Job Description
ROLE: Project team member focused on surface water hydrology analyses related to climate change planning, flood resiliency, wetland restoration, and shore protection projects.Analysis of hydrodynamic processes, including numerical modeling for project applications and development of engineering design alternatives. Prepares reports and presentations of completed work.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Water Resources Engineer/Modeler will have the following duties and responsibilities:
- Hydrologic and Hydraulic data analyses using data science tools for a wide range of datasets
- Numerical model applications
- Urban Pluvial Flooding (including piped infrastructure)
- Riverine, estuarine and wetland dynamics
- Oceanographic and coastal processes
- Coding and scripting
- Create graphics for reporting / presentation
- Develop high quality reports describing technical analyses
- Work successfully with other motivated team members to achieve project goals
- Report status of projects to supervisor and completes project assignments within budget and schedule constraints
- Support for field data collection and analysis
- Prepare and make public presentations
SUPERVISION EXERCISED
None required, but depending on experience level may include mentoring of junior level staff.

From senior level scientist or engineer
QUALIFICATIONS
- Masters Degree in Engineering/Physics/Data Science or other related quantitative field is required.
- 0-10 years of related experience
- Demonstrated capabilities in numerical modeling, data analysis, and courses in quantitative processes are highly desirable.
- A high level of proficiency in computing, including numerical modeling, Scripting (Using languages such as Python, Matlab, or R), and ArcGIS.
- Excellent English oral communication, technical writing, interpersonal, and teamwork skills are required,
- Ability to perform diligent independent technical work, supporting complex projects, and provide new ideas.
- Ability to learn new modeling and technical analyses skills quickly and thoroughly.
