Summary:
This position performs a wide variety of analytical and technical duties involved in the analyses of drinking water, wastewater, and related material samples for organic and inorganic constituents.
Responsibilities:
Duties include performing laboratory testing on water and wastewater samples, conducting Quality Assurance checks, and passing unknown standards required by the National Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program (NELAP). This position is responsible for interpreting analytical results for both water and wasteWATER QUALITY; assisting in the development and implementation of various applied research projects, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local requirements and regulations regarding water and wasteWATER QUALITY standards.
Qualifications:
Equivalent to an Associate's degree with major coursework in Chemistry, Biology, or a related field. Minimum one year experience in WATER QUALITY assurance, treatment, or related laboratory experience is required. Must have the ability to respond to a variety of WATER QUALITY service and 24-hour emergency calls as needed. Must have a valid driver's license. The successful candidate must pass a City background check, physical and drug screen.
