Water Infrastructure & Climate Resilience Engineer

You will join our Water Infrastructure & Climate Adaptation group
In joining our team, you will be part of an internationally leading company within the area of Climate Resilience with professionals working in a collaborative environment in the areas of Climate Resilience and Cloudburst Planning; Flood Reduction and Risk Mitigation, including use of Blue-Green- infrastructure (BGI), Nature-Based-Solutions and other Protection Measures; Watershed Management Plans; and Integrated Infrastructure Planning and Design.
Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:
The position will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
  • Manage and/or execute complex projects, of moderate to substantial size; providing supervision and delegation as necessary
  • Provide technical leadership to watershed management, flood resiliency, floodplain restoration, stormwater/green infrastructure, streambank stabilization, stormwater and combined sewer and systems projects
  • Manage and/or perform hydrologic, hydraulic, and water quality analysis studies.
  • Manage and/or perform hydraulic design and construction cost estimating.
  • Prepare written reports, such as study narratives documenting studies.
  • Train and mentor junior and mid-level water resources engineers.
  • Perform quality reviews of H&H studies performed by other engineers or subconsultants.
  • Manage projects and/or tasks, adhering to scope, schedule and budget
  • Contribute to technical and business content and assist in managing proposal preparation or

independently manage proposal preparation.
  • Participate actively in client discussions.
  • Develop projects with existing clients and/or develop clients independently.
  • Assist in preparation of papers and their presentation at technical meetings; may prepare

and present papers independently.
  • Participate in seminar presentations to staff or at technical conferences; occasionally participate in seminars and workshops for professional organizations.

  • Professional Engineer certification/registration
  • B.S. Degree in an Environmental, Water Resources, or Civil field
  • 10+ years watershed or resiliency-based experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of hydrology and open channel hydraulics.
  • Knowledge/experience with hydrological modeling software such as HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, MIKE, FLO 2D, SWMM, etc. Knowledge/experience with ESRI ArcGIS is a plus.
  • Experience with local, state and federal permitting programs and stormwater and floodplain regulations, climate risk mapping and climate justice concepts
  • Experience with conceptual and preliminary design of flood protection measures, stormwater management, and green infrastructure

Preferred Skills/Certifications
  • Additional certifications, such as Envision Sustainability Professional (ENV SP) or Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) is a plus
  • FEMA floodplain study experience and NFIP program knowledge is a strong plus.
  • Hazard mitigation experience is a plus
