The position(s) will be assigned to the Georgia Information Sharing and Analysis Center (GISAC) located in Decatur, Georgia.

This announcement may be used to fill future Watch Desk Analyst position(s).

This is a sensitive government position.

NOTE: This position is a part of the GISAC unit and is a 24/7 operation under the "See Something Send Something" program. This position requires shift work on a rotating basis.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under general supervision, receive and evaluate reported suspicious activity information from public safety and citizens in support of the State of Georgia's "See Something Send Something" program. Conduct inquiries through database checks and analysis to assist local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies with requests for information related to criminal investigations and suspicious activity reporting from a variety of submissions to include telephone, email, and all other means of correspondence. Applies knowledge of specialized computer software and related data systems in support of assignment; analyzes information on individual criminals, groups of criminals, suspect businesses, or types of criminal activity from varied sources and/or databases in order to respond to request for information. Additionally, analyze evidence, crime reports, and databases to generate reports in support of the investigation and successful prosecution of crime. Receives additional training, as required, to gain full proficiency and experience in all areas. The work is performed under the supervision of Criminal Intelligence Analyst Supervisor or sworn (LE Certified) supervisor.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The incumbent will occasionally be required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop and kneel.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position requires the incumbent(s) to work in an office setting which includes shared office space with other employees in a 24/7 work environment.


NOTE: This position may require some travel and operating a state vehicle. A valid Georgia driver's license is required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
