Job description

The Wastewater Supervisor will be responsible for the operation go the DAF systems located in RRP and Wastewater. The Supervisor will be required to maintain optimal effluent quality to reduce loading to the wastewater facility and to the CROM. This position will be responsible for documentation and communication to RRP, wastewater, production and Environmental. The DAY operators will answer to this supervisor.

Duties/Activities Required by Job

  • Oversee and maintains DAF treatment systems, included but not limited to parts, supplies, maintenance, preventative maintenance, record keeping, and chemical inventory needed for proper system operations.
  • Analyze operational data, logs , and improvements needed to accomplish solids removal objectives. Document and report results to Wastewater Operations Manager and Environmental Department.
  • Maintenance of the DAFs and related equipment
  • Supervises daily operations of DAF systems through direct supervision of hourly staff. Is responsible for selection, performance management, training and development of employees. Develops and administer staff schedule.
  • Operate and maintain the DAF systems providing a safe working environment with proper safety equipment and tools needed for team members.  Maintain high quality effluent from DAF systems-low solids, low BOD, proper treatment flow and proper sludge storage.

Educations/Experience Requirements

  • High school
  • 5- 7 yrs., with previous experience managing and accomplishing work through direct reports.
  • WW  Level 1 license
