Summary
The primary responsibility of this position is to act as a Production Supervisor of the Water Control department for Heraeus. The Production Supervisor is responsible for the day-today execution of all Water Control processes to meet customer demands while maintaining cost effectiveness and quality expectations, compliance of Environmental, Health & Safety Standards. Furthermore, they are fully responsible for all issues related to the Water operations department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned as required):
- Supervises the corresponding Department, including personnel, and leads the department team in the day-to-day execution of operations.
- Maximizes and measures the productivity of all chemical production related functions and adjusts methods, processes, procedures and training where needed to increase productivity, efficiency and safety.
- Manage overtime and shift handover time and costs in the department.
- Assures precious metal security during all processes and especially during handovers to adjacent departments. Assures safety and environmental training for his staff.
- Is responsible for the introduction and future compliance with the Quality Systems
- Together with Maintenance and Process development develops a preventing maintenance program, which will reduce breakdowns and downtime.
- Works with support staff to assure employees’ and the company’s adherence to quality, safety and environmental standards that exceed the industry minimum.
- Defines scheduling and coordinate with Purchasing to assures on time delivery of raw materials.
- Assures contingency planning for his staff.
- Manages time and attendance issues for plant EES
- Oversees the safe operation and conduct of the assigned team members.
- Will oversee provisions for training and training documentation.
- Maximizes and measures the productivity of all department related functions and adjusts manpower, methods and training where needed to increase productivity, efficiency and safety.
- Optimizes throughput, cycle time and product/process quality.
- Ensures that all operations in the Department are in compliances with all regulations from DTSC, SCAQMD, LACSD, SFSFD, and /or OSHA.
- Ensures annual inventory is completed successfully and timely.
- Manage cost, review budget and submit for annual review
- Support and compliance of company initiatives (HPS/5S)
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Responsible for the planning, installation, maintenance and servicing of the devices, machinery and equipment in the department pursuant to the legal regulations in force,
- Responsible for timely communication of information to the VP Quality and Regulatory Compliance or his designee regarding any planned changes and new investments (as relevant under environmental or occupational protection aspects),
- Responsible for the operation of the plants and the protection of the staff pursuant to the regulations and obligations in force,
- Responsible for orderly recruitment, control and training of subordinates,
- Responsible for coordinating all activity related to fire protection,
- Responsible for coordinating with Safety for all employee medical concerns,
- Responsible for developing, communicating, and training of operational and working instructions,
- Responsible for immediate notification of any deviations from the operation in accordance with the regulations and of any industrial accidents to the Vice President of Regulatory Compliance or his designee,
- Responsible for the security of Precious Metals and adherence to the company precious metal guidelines. Reports any breach in security or missing metals immediately to the Vice President of Regulatory Compliance or his designee,
- The immediate notification of the responsible Vice President in Santa Fe Springs regarding any Human Resources, Quality, Regulatory or Financial issues,
- Responsible for complying to the company code of conduct and for reporting any deviations to any of the company Compliance Officers,
- Responsible for reporting any suspicious activity as defined by the anti-money laundering federal regulations,
- Responsible for adhering to and enforcing the US Heraeus Handbook and the local Site Employee Handbook.
Education and/or Experience
- A minimum of 10 year experienced with appropriate industry experience, preferably in the precious metals industry.
- A strategic individual with sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment and strong operational focus.
- A well-organized and self-directed individual and a team player.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
