Job Description
Job Responsibilities:
· Lead new and on-going supplier quality assessments for Tier 2 OEM supply base.
· Manage, apply and document the APQP process utilizing necessary quality processes (PPAP, PFMEA, SPC, control plans, run at rate, etc.).
· Support and facilitate supplier use of APQP processes.
· Document Tier 2 supplier compliance with North American OEM APQP requirements.
· Manage and coordinate the delivery of validation testing samples.
· Validate and approve supplier changes, manufacturing processes, and quality systems.
· Improve quality performance of suppliers by providing technical assistance in developing a quality system, or other technical support as required.
· Understand part characteristics and required process controls to achieve them.
· Review and approve tool, fixture, and part design.
· Drive quality improvements.
· Supplier Development
· Act as the face of the customer when interacting with the supply base. Collaborate with all internal departments.
Qualifications/Skills:
· Proficient in Blueprint reading and interpretation and part measurement.
· Knowledge of AIAG standards including Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Process Flow Diagram (PFD), Failure Mode Effects analysis (FMEA), control plans, Statistical Process Control (SPC), and APQP.
· Demonstrated knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and gage methods and strategies.
· Demonstrated knowledge of probability and design of experiments.
· Manufacturing and process knowledge in metal castings, forgings, heat treat, machining, stamping, rubber and plastic molding and vibration dampening characteristics.
· Detailed knowledge of halfshafts and driveshafts componentry and assembly process.
· Demonstrated experience with PLEX, Neapco’s enterprise resource planning (ERP) system.
· Demonstrated knowledge of all North American automotive OEMs’ supplier portals (Chrysler’s eSupplierConnect, Ford’s Supplier Portal, and GM’s SupplyPower), quality specific applications, procedures, and sub-tier supplier APQP requirements.
· Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing and assembly plant equipment.
· Knowledge of supplier quality standards, policies and procedures.
· Conduct Production Demonstration Run / Run at Rate activities.
Experience Required
· Position requires the employee to have minimum of 5 years of Warranty or Supplier Quality Engineering experience preferred.
Education Required
· Bachelor’s Degree, Bachelor of Science in Engineering preferred.

· Demonstrated ability to investigate quality problems and apply sound technical judgment to aid in root cause problem solving (i.e.: 8D, 5 Why, Ishakawa).
· Proficient oral and written communication skills.
· Demonstrated high level of interpersonal skills to effectively lead, motivate, and facilitate others in group situations.
· Organization and planning skills. Ability to manage multiple programs and projects.
· Quality engineering experience required.
· Computer literate (Microsoft Office, MIMS, etc.)
Criteria/Conditions (specific background and skills)
· Work is performed in a manufacturing plant which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes or airborne particles.
· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear and see.
· Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy to heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) during the course of the workday.
· The employee will be required to use all personal protective equipment provided by the Company in compliance with OSHA regulations, including lift harness, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety foot wear, and as needed rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and other protective equipment as required.
