Job Description
The Warranty Administrator prepares, records and submits warranty claims to manufacturers. They are expected to perform a write-up of repairs and then act as the liaison with the manufacturer to ensure timely repair and payment.
Responsibilities
The following responsibilities will be expected for this position:
- Discuss the warranty claim and expectations with sales department or customers
- Preparing and processing warranty documentation according to manufacturer guidelines
- Submit claims quickly and effectively
- Communication with service department on the status of the warranty claim
- Follow up with manufacturers to ensure claims are being processed properly
- Resubmit any denied claims promptly or receives authorization to write them off
- Track warranty parts by tagging with repair order number, date of replacement and date on which part may be disposed of
- Arranges for parts to be shipped to manufacturer or to be scrapped
- Maintains knowledge of factory recalls and bulletins
- Assists with customers and telephone duties as needed
- Assists with any clerical needs as directed by the controller
- Maintains a professional appearance and neat work area
- Performs other duties as assigned
