Job Description

The Warranty Administrator prepares, records and submits warranty claims to manufacturers. They are expected to perform a write-up of repairs and then act as the liaison with the manufacturer to ensure timely repair and payment.

Responsibilities

The following responsibilities will be expected for this position:

• Discuss the warranty claim and expectations with sales department or customers
• Preparing and processing warranty documentation according to manufacturer guidelines
• Submit claims quickly and effectively
• Communication with service department on the status of the warranty claim
• Follow up with manufacturers to ensure claims are being processed properly
• Resubmit any denied claims promptly or receives authorization to write them off
• Track warranty parts by tagging with repair order number, date of replacement and date on which part may be disposed of
• Arranges for parts to be shipped to manufacturer or to be scrapped
• Maintains knowledge of factory recalls and bulletins
• Assists with customers and telephone duties as needed
• Assists with any clerical needs as directed by the controller
• Maintains a professional appearance and neat work area
• Performs other duties as assigned
