All employees at the Cabot Warehouse have Environment, Health and Safety roles and responsibilities, and are accountable for achieving compliance with our EHS Policy, including Emergency Preparedness and Response as defined in site-wide documentation. Employees are responsible for knowing the equipment and process operation, operating powered industrial trucks to handle, store, and transport raw materials and finished products; provide routine minor maintenance to specified equipment; maintain quality standards and take corrective action as needed; and housekeeping.
Operator will be required to work a shift schedule, and work overtime and holidays as production demands dictate. Personal Protective Equipment must be worn in the area as specified.
Responsibilities
- Comply with all plant environmental, health, safety, and process safety standards and procedures. Report hazards, deviations, and injuries in a timely manner.
- Comply with all Company policies and procedures and quality standards.
- Operate Powered Industrial Trucks.
- Load/unload trucks.
- Operate silo and related equipment; bagger operation, and stretch wrap machine.
- Material packaging and repackaging – some being considered hazardous.
- Complete data sheets, environmental emission reports, inventory sheets, forklift inspection reports, etc.
- Complete overage and shortage reports within a prescribed time period.
- Collect and prepare samples of material for analysis.
- Troubleshoot process equipment.
- Warehouse cleanup, trash and waste material disposal.
- Assist other Warehouseman when assigned, including lunch relief.
- Perform environmental, safety and regulatory inspections, and complete checklists.
- Complete all regulatory testing and attend safety meetings as required.
Physical Requirements and Environment
- Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs and ladders over 100 ft.
- Must be willing to wear PPE (Personal Protective equipment) including but not limited to hard hat, protective eyewear, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, Level A suit, full face respirator
- Ability to work in a high hazard environment, including adverse weather conditions, elevated spaces, confined spaces, extreme temperatures, and noisy surroundings.
- Ability to follow safety protocols and standards working in a pilot plant facility with highly hazardous materials
Required Qualifications
Employee must successfully complete all applicable regulatory testing and warehouse training requirements.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 1 year of verifiable work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Must have the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. In addition, must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, ability to perform operations, using units of American weight, measurement, volume, and distance and the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
