Chemical distributor is looking for qualified applicants to work in a semi outdoors environment. Position entails working on a forklift most of the time, in a covered shed area, and handling some hazardous chemicals. Carefully picking orders with special attention to detail (correct product picked, cleaned of any possible dust or sediment, carefully assembling and securing full and mixed pallets to not puncture bags, pails, drums, totes, etc., and then loading (sometimes blocking and bracing especially overseas loads) Dry Vans and/or Shipping Containers prior to shipment. Training is provided in advance of working in the warehouse and forklift test and certification. Starting wage is $22.00/hr with OT at $33.00/hr.; salary negotiable for applicants who have previous job type experience. Day shift only, Monday through Friday with paid national holidays.
Duties:
* Maintains quality standards by picking correct order, cleaning packages as needed, securing packages, bags, and/or drums and/or pails by way of shrink wrap and/or various bandings to pallets, and arranging/loading in correct order for shipment.
* Cleaning and organizing Warehouse and Storage Areas
* Be willing to assist production with filling containers, and blending operations
*Assist Production in assuring containers are properly labeled prior to shipping, and helping labeling containers as and if needed
* Reviews and signs load documents prior to shipments
* Helps prepare others for Warehouse Worker responsibilities
* Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
* Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Skills/Qualifications:
* Ability to lift items over 25 lbs., and stand for long periods of time.
* Ability to read and communicate in English
* Strong work ethic.
* Superior forklift experience a must.
* Qualified applicants will need to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
