SUMMARY
Responsible for the handling, moving, loading and unloading of materials by hand or by using a variety of material handling equipment. Opens and seals crates, boxes, cartons, and other containers. Collects, sorts, stores and distributes materials. Responsible for the shipping and processing of freight according to company policies and procedures. Ensures the orderly stocking and/or timely delivery of merchandise. Updates management on all inventory issues on a regular and as-needed basis. Responsible for performing a variety of warehouse tasks and duties. The candidate will perform duties as assigned under the direction of management. Guides Operations in safety protocol. Models and acts in accordance with our guiding principles and core values.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- May participate in activities including kit and bundle breakdown and component sorting.
- Works under moderate supervision.
- Problems faced are typically routine but may at times require interpretation or deviation from standard procedures.
- Makes minor adjustments to working methods.
- Communicates information that requires explanation or interpretation.
- Still gaining or have attained full proficiency in their specific area of discipline.
- Works on assignments that are semi-routine in nature but recognizes the need for occasional deviation from accepted practice.
- May seek the advice of senior personnel in the functional area.
- Normally follows established procedures on routine work, requires instructions only on new assignments.
- May perform other tasks in other areas as needed.
Qualifications: Verbal and written communication skills. Analytical with problem-solving abilities. Ability to operate warehouse equipment and work independently. Experience working in similar role in manufacturing, transportation or warehouse setting. Team player/detailed oriented. Ability to perform physically intensive labor including the associate is regularly required to talk; hear; stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle and/or feel; reach with hands and arms; be able to lift up to 50 pounds, walk for periods of time and stand for periods of time. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception. Must be able to perform duties in a warehouse environment while working closely with others, working well in busy conditions which may be noisy at times. Ability to take direction and work in accordance to set standards of performance and safety. Education: High School Degree or Equivalent preferred.
