Warehouse Supervisor

Regular; Exempt


$50,000 - $65,000 (DOE)


PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for the hiring, training, scheduling, and supervision of all warehouse employees. The individual will be responsible for adherence to the inventory control procedures and for maintaining an efficient, safe, and orderly warehouse.


KEY ACTIVITIES


Departmental Management:

  • Hire, train, and supervise all warehouse employees to ensure they are performing their assigned duties in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Ensure all warehouse employees pay close attention to the code dates; Monitor coding for all packages.
  • Monitor employee scheduling and hourly expectations.
  • Monitor and track warehouse productivity for efficient put away and replenishment.
  • Assist in the supervision of delivery drivers when in the warehouse, verify loads, and return product to warehouse inventory in a timely manner.
  • Supervise the repack area to ensure product is returned to stock in a timely manner.
  • Secure the warehouse by maintaining proper security measures and monitoring unauthorized parties during work hours.
  • Ensure that the warehouse is kept neat, orderly, and clear of trash and debris (shrink wrap) daily; Assign appropriate personnel, as needed, to attend to building maintenance duties.
  • Order warehouse supplies and maintain an inventory to meet the expected needs of warehouse operations.
  • Ensure all forklift operators are trained and certified in the safe and proper operation of equipment; Ensure all employees assigned an electric pallet jack are trained and certified in safe and proper operation.
  • Ensure all warehouse employees adhere to all Company policies and procedures and provide appropriate training, guidance, and documentation where necessary.
  • Ensure the warehouse is appropriately prepared for night warehouse operations.
  • Coordinate with the Director of Warehouse Operations to ensure adequate assistance is provided to night warehouse as may be required to minimize overtime for night warehouse selectors.
  • Work with the Director of Warehouse Operations to review warehouse layout twice per year executing against opportunities to improve efficiency of night warehouse operations; and
  • Other duties as assigned.

Inventory Control:

  • Require adherence to the inventory control procedure to prevent the loss of product through pilferage, damage, or aging; Assist with the physical inventory of product secured in the warehouse; ensures inventory variances are kept to a reasonable minimum.
  • Ensure all delivery drivers’ loads are verified and their return loads, including empties, are counted & returned to warehouse inventory upon their return.
  • Ensure all product rows are properly rotated based on date code and ensure all SKU locations are properly labeled and kept up to date in the system.
  • Require all incoming shipment Bill of Ladings are validated against actual quantities and changed when quantities do not match.
  • Reports any major variances and/or damage to the Director of Warehouse Operations.
  • Responsible for invoicing all trucking companies for inbound damage; Forward to the office all paperwork from incoming shipments.
  • Ensure all empties, dunnage, and pallets are returned to warehouse inventory with quantities verified.
  • Require all individuals taking product(s)from the warehouse to have a verified load sheet or computer-generated invoice; and
  • Ensure expired products are disposed of in a timely manner following company and supplier policies.


Supervisory, Team Development, and Administration:

  • Effectively interview, hire, train, and develop staff; Actively participate with HR in new hire orientation.
  • Plan, assign tasks, and direct work of subordinate personnel; examine work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
  • Provide and post work schedules, vacation schedules, and all other pertinent documents.
  • Appraise performance and reward employees appropriately; address complaints and resolve personnel problems; work to maintain harmony and unity among staff; Take necessary corrective action in a timely manner and in accordance with Company policy; and
  • Monitor and submit bi-weekly payroll documentation.

Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS


Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred;
  • A minimum of five years' experience in a warehouse setting; and
  • Three or more years in a supervisory, administrative, or management capacity.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSAs)

  • Knowledge in all areas of warehouse management.
  • Familiarity with inventory procedures; Warehouse layout and product slotting experience.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, vendors, other governmental agencies, and the general public as appropriate; Ability to promote positive public relations and convey the objectives of the facility to various groups and individuals.
  • Knowledge of Summit’s Route Accounting Software, Eostar.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Excellent budgeting skills.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills; Ability to lead and manage a highly effective team.
  • Ability to work independently; Ability to handle a wide range of tasks; and
  • Understand and effectively communicate Summit Beverage's organizational mission and goals.
