This position is primarily responsible for verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments and preparing items for shipment by performing the following duties personally:
- Coordinate and schedule the shipment and receipt of incoming and outgoing shipments with trucking companies, UPS, FED-EX, DHL, etc.
- Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages and correspond with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
- Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.
- Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence.
- Fill requisitions, work orders or requests for materials, tools or other stock items and distribute accordingly.
- Mark materials with identifying information.
- Open bales, crates and other containers.
- Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
- Weigh or count items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
- Use computer to enter records.
- Affix shipping labels on packed cartons.
- Communicate with customers to identify preferred method of shipment.
- Receive, post and maintain accurate records of all inventory transactions daily
- Ensure compliance with established internal control procedures.
- Track all WIP materials & parts used in equipment manufacture and repair.
- Research inventory discrepancies, document errors and report to management.
- Perform monthly cycle counts.
- Perform annual physical inventories.
- Run daily, weekly and monthly reports as designated by management.
- Assemble wooden or cardboard containers or select pre-assembled containers.
- Post weights and shipping charges and affix postage.
- Maintain inventory or shipping materials and supplies.
- Keep parts cage, warehouse and personal work areas clean and orderly.
- Must be forklift certified and be able to use hand truck to move, convey or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
