Warehouse Shipping Lead

POSITION SUMMARY

Fungi Perfecti, LLC is a family owned, environmentally friendly company specializing in growing and using gourmet and medicinal mushrooms to improve the health of the planet and its people. The position is located at our warehouse in Tumwater, WA. The Shipping Lead will assist the shift Shipping Supervisor in promoting safe operational practices, as well as accuracy and efficiency within the shipping department. The warehouse second shift operates Monday through Thursday 5:00 p.m. to 3:30 a.m., but may operate on an altered schedule, to include weekends and overtime, on occasion to meet the needs of the business. The second shift includes an additional $0.50 per hour shift differential, for any hours worked between 5:00pm to 3:30am.

The Shipping Lead is a full-time, non-exempt position and will report directly to the Warehouse Shipping Supervisor. If

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs onboarding of new employees to ensure the understanding of our picking and packing processes.
  Assists the shift Supervisor ensuring employees perform job duties safely, accurately, and in a timely manner.
• Safeguards and ensures proper handling and storage of product and equipment.
• Assists with organizing and maintaining a clean and efficient warehouse environment.
• Ensures and promotes compliance with company safety guidelines, policies, and procedures.
Assists with maintaining and overseeing the completion of relevant cGMP logs (forklift inspection, cleaning, repackaging, etc.) to ensure cGMP compliance
• - reports issues, discrepancies or other information to supervisor or department head.
• Accurately and efficiently selects products to fulfill customer orders and performs the duties commonly performed by the Shipper classification. Packs and prepares shipments in accordance with customer and carrier guidelines.
• Verifies orders periodically or as needed to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Monitors incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
• Assists with maintaining inventory levels and orders shipping supplies and needed.
• Communicates professionally with Shipping Coordinator, Customer Service, Shipping Supervisor, and Supply Chain personnel on a regular basis.
• Safely operates forklift as needed.
• May assume the duties of the Shipping Supervisor in their absence.
• Willingness to work overtime and beyond scheduled shift.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience working in a warehouse environment.
• Two (2) years of experience in warehousing, shipping, and/or manufacturing.
• Forklift operator certification preferred.
• Basic knowledge of shipping software.
• Basic knowledge of cGMP and safety regulations.
• Basic knowledge of SAP database system.
Basic knowledge of MS Office Suite including
• - Outlook, Excel, Word and Teams.
• Basic experience leading small teams preferred.
• Excellent organization, communication, and attention to detail.
• Ability to be self-directing and to take decisive and constructive action in adverse or ambiguous situations.
• Ability to assist in building a healthy team atmosphere.

PHYSICAL & MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
• Frequently, bending, sitting, lifting, and overhead reaching.
• Ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
• Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
• Ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.
• Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.
• Ability to communicate information and ideas in writing so others will understand.
• Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
• Ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong, and problem solve to prevent accidents, injuries and or maintain current processes.

Wage Range: $22.65 - $31.45 per hour + $0.50 per hour shift differential
