Sunset West, a division of Hooker Furnishings Corporation (NASDAQ: HOFT), is currently recruiting for a Shipping Lead to work in our Vista, CA location. Hooker Furnishings Corporation, in its 100th year of business, is a designer, marketer and importer of case goods, leather furniture, fabric-upholstered furniture and outdoor furniture for the residential, hospitality and contract markets. We are looking for a dependable individual with great attention to detail to join our warehouse team as a Shipping Lead.

This candidate will collaborate with our warehouse leads to maximize product shipments and reach shipping goals.

Position Responsibilities:

• Coordinate shipments of outbound and inbound freight, LTL and container.
• Responsible for the shipping and tagging of all freight, both retail and e-tail accounts.
• Prepare shipping documents, including bills of lading, packing slips. Scan and file all paperwork into appropriate storage location as per company SOP’s.
• Monitor and review shipping reports and resolve discrepancies.
• Schedule and maintain Will Call orders. Coordinate with stuffing lead to ensure that Will Call PRD stickers are handed off and will meet ship date.
• Process “rush” orders ensuring shipping deadline is met.
• Schedule daily trailer swaps with current dispatch.
• Schedule container shipments.
• Maintain effective communication with internal departments, carriers, vendors and co-workers to facilitate the smooth flow of materials and product.
• Maintain accurate inventory of shipping supplies ensuring adequate stock levels.
• Collaborate with Team Leads to ensure quality standards are upheld.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings and efficiency enhancements within the shipping department.
• Mitigate and communicate any operational risks that may arise.

Candidate Qualifications:

• 1-2 years of progressive experience in shipping outbound goods
• Proficiency in using inventory management software and MS Office applications.
• Comfortable with web-based customer portal navigation
• Enjoy fast paced and independent work.
• Have a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Shift: Monday – Friday 8:00am-4:30pm

Pay Range: $18-28 per hour.
