POSITION SUMMARY --

The Warehouse Shipping Clerk performs a variety of shipping functions accurately and efficiently to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction. This position requires the following functions in order to quickly get the correct products to customers: recording, labeling, picking and packaging.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES --

• Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.
• Reviews orders to be filled.
• Picks customer orders from assigned locations using power equipment (forklifts, etc.)
• Examines shipment contents and compares with records, invoices and/or orders to verify accuracy.
• Records shipment data, such as weight, damages or discrepancies for reporting.
• Packs, seals, labels and applies postage to prepare materials for shipment.
• Communicates with sales and purchasing to rectify problems related to damages, shortages or nonconformance to specifications.
• Continuously improves productivity and efficiency of processes throughout distribution.
• Performs cycle counts.
• Aids in keeping a clean warehouse.
• All other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS --

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is regularly required to lift 30 to 50 pounds, with occasional lifting up to 60. This position requires a person to be on their feet for up to 8 hours a day, while using fork trucks, pallet jacks and calipers to perform duties. Occasional ladder climbing may become necessary to perform job duties. Driving a non-CDL vehicle (< 26,000 pounds).
