Position: Warehouse Shipment Specialist

Department: Shipping

Shift: (1) 2nd shift

Position Description

The Warehouse Shipment Specialist position will be responsible for improving and ensuring operational efficiency within the Shipping Department. This position will be actively working in the warehouse, performing hands-on quality control duties for all shipments, and will be the link between production and the Shipping department to ensure accurate inventory flow. The qualified candidate will also assist in managing our backorder levels.

Essential Duties of the Warehouse Shipment Specialist include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform quality control certification process for shipments.
  • Ensure new inventory from production is placed in the correct locations.
  • Optimize inventory placement and location/slotting strategy to improve inventory accuracy and shipping team efficiency.
  • Identify allocation issues and adjust order allocations manually when necessary.
  • Monitor and improve past-due shipments and sales order aging/backorder level.
  • Verify inventory stockout status and investigate any outages.
  • Perform regular cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Provide feedback to planning, production, and materials teams to account for and resolve inventory discrepancies.
  • Run and distribute reports to management upon request.
  • Back up shipping office and Material Handler positions as needed.

Qualifications of the Warehouse Shipment Specialist role include but are not limited to:

  • Ability to work cross-functionally with other teams.
  • Ability to recognize, prioritize, and resolve problems independently.
  • Strong data entry and computer skills with knowledge of Excel.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Positive, can-do attitude.
  • Excellent attendance and work record.
  • Forklift experience highly preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

This is a full-time, hourly position, and the starting pay for this position is anticipated to start at $19.70 - $21.70 per hour.
