Warehouse Receiving Clerk

Job Summary:

The Receiving Clerk will be focused on receiving inbound freight into the Manhattan System.

This is a 1st Shift position, Monday thru Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm. There is a potential for overtime that varies from week to week that coincides with the needs of the business.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• None.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Receives goods and verifies the quality and count of all items unloaded from trailers; checks against suppliers’ count and immediately reports discrepancies to manager, per company policy.
• Checking outbound shipment accuracy.
• Notifies manager of major discrepancies and over-shipments.
• Documents damage on BOL’s, takes appropriate photos, and communicates directly to the dock supervisor/assistant director of warehouse operations any damage issues.
• Transports materials on the shipping dock with a hand truck or other vehicle as needed.
• Loads trucks using a forklift as needed.
• Check drivers in/out using the warehouse dock scheduling system.
• Assist with directing workflow from shipping office to the dock.
• Performs other clerical duties as needed.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to accurately sort, count, and verify items received.
• Basic understanding of dock and warehouse procedures.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and/or inventory software to input data, and maintain records.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• 2 Years of Warehouse Receiving Experience Required
• Permit for operation of forklift highly preferred

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to traverse distribution warehouses and access a variety of storage spaces and shelving units by stretching, squatting, and reaching.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
• Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures in the warehouse and on the loading dock.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
