About the Job

CDS Logistics is seeking a dynamic professional to join our team as a Warehouse Puller in the Baltimore, MD Facility. As a Warehouse Puller with CDS Logistics you will pull runs accurately and timely in alignment with production needs. The Warehouse Puller role involves punctuality, safety compliance, equipment checks, run preparation, pulling runs according to SOP, mastering SOPs including forklift operation, coordinating with drivers, obtaining Double Reach certification, performing customer will calls, mastering Lean 5S, participating in standardizing procedures, joining Gemba walks, assisting in Claims Management, and aiding in maintaining safety, security, maintenance, and cleanliness practices, along with value-added projects and other assigned duties. The primary goal of a Warehouse Puller is to is to efficiently and accurately retrieve products or materials from the warehouse inventory according to orders or requests, ensuring timely delivery to customers or other designated locations and to ensure we are driving business results to meet our organizational objectives, mission, vision, and values always ensuring operational excellence.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Punctuality and good attendance is a requirement of this position.
  • Ability to follow all equipment and warehouse safety regulations.
  • Perform operation checks and daily inspections on equipment.
  • Obtain run paperwork and door locations from your lead or supervisor.
  • Pull the run, in accordance with pulling SOP.
  • Learn and master SOP’s for: Pulling runs, Operating forklifts and riding on jacks, must also pass all certification courses for this equipment when applicable, Checking runs, Driver run coordination and reporting, Double Reach certification and operations, when applicable, Performing customer will calls.
  • Master Lean 5S and practice 5S in your area of responsibilities
  • Participate in efforts to standardize warehouse operating procedures, such as 5S, justification of the lanes, etc.
  • Participate in Gemba walks with warehouse team.
  • Participate in Claims Management efforts.
  • Assist in maintaining the following areas under the direction of your management team: Safety Practices, Security Practices, Maintenance Practices, Cleaning Practices, Value added projects when assigned, All other duties as assigned.
  • You will be evaluated through reviews on your 30th, 60th and 90th day and then yearly for the above duties. This is intended to provide guidance and instruction as you learn and master your new position.

Qualifications:

  • High School Degree or GED or equivalent experience.
  • 1 year of Warehouse experience.
  • Experience with the Electric Pallet Jack.
  • Experience with Forklift operation.
  • Experience with RF or Handheld Scanners.
  • Poses a willingness to learn while working in a team environment.
  • Literacy – English language.
  • Ability to pass certification courses for essential warehouse equipment for the job.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of warehouse experience
  • 1 year of warehouse pulling or order selecting for palletized product
  • Experience with a Double Reach Truck

Supervisory Responsibility:

  • This position will not have supervisory responsibility.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear, stand, walk for 8+ hours per day, use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift, push, pull and/or move up to 50 pounds consistently and lift and/or move up to 100 pounds frequently. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Travel

Little to no travel is expected for this position.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a warehouse environment. This role routinely uses power industrial equipment such as forklifts, double electric pallet jacks, clamp trucks, and double reach trucks. This position will also require operations within an office environment.
