Summary of Position:
The Warehouse Stocker will stock incoming product to appropriate locations by performing the following duties:
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Takes tagged product to location to be stored.
- Uses Turret to store and rotate product on high shelves.
- Inspects shipments for damages or defects; records discrepancies or damages and notifies supervisor and/or purchasing personnel.
- Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
- May maintain department database, prepare routine reports, and file shipping/receiving records.
- May operate dolly, pallet jack, order picker, turret, and/or forklift in loading and unloading supplies and equipment; may operate shrink-wrap machine; may assist in routine maintenance of equipment and shipping area.
- Ensure product is properly rotated.
- Notify manager if products are stored in wrong location or unsafely.
Technical Requirements – Education, Areas of Knowledge and Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- Six months of experience in warehouse operations preferred.
- Ability to operate various types of materials handling equipment including hand trucks, pallet jacks, turrets, standard forklifts, and order-picker forklifts when needed.
- Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
- Ability to perform these operations using weight measurement, volume, and distance.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
- Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
